MLP Generation Gap Meme

Oh my god, I have so much stuff to work on, but it is all turning into ponies. OTL So you know what, the hell with it, HERE ARE MORE PONIES.

I am usually not all that good at mimicking other styles, so I thought I would give this one a try. I am still not great at it, but pony mimicry is a little easier somehow. |D;;

And of course, I filled the meme out using pony!Jena. Because I am predictable.


Original: Is it weird that I feel like out of everything here, my OWN style didn't come out quite right? |D;; Pfft.
I guess at this point I have mostly adopted more of a G4 look for my ponies, although I can't fully remove all traces of my usual animu style/years of old school ponies. Plus I can never draw the simplified three-feather wings. orz I always go overboard with wings, man.

G1 Pilot: Oh Firefly, how I loved you. <3 It was pretty hard to replicate this decently though, ah haha. orz Equine legs, why you so hard.

G1 Friends: You know, I watched so much of this series/the movie over the years, and yet I still forgot how freaking round and squishy these ponies looked. :I Also, how tiny the ears were.

G1 Tales: Never actually watched this one as a kid. :c I skimmed a few episodes while trying to figure out the style though, and I guess there were never any unicorns or pegasi? D: So I had to wing it for her.. well, wings. OTL *maimed for puns*

G2: Oh Gen2, you were a little odd, but I always sorta liked the art style _{(although the fact that females from that generation had the Clydesdale feathering on their hooves has always been weird to me. HASBO, ONLY BOYS ARE CLYDESDALES. THAT IS WHAT YOU TAUGHT ME. *brick'd* )}. Too bad I never owned any of these toys. :c Also, this style is deceptively hard. orz Or maybe I am just bad at it; her neck should probably be a little longer. Also, again, had to take a guess at the wings. >_>a

G3: I always did kinda like Pegasi from G3. Since I've always been partial to the "swirly wing" look. |3;; Although the manes are tough. Not so much actually drawing them, but more because they are all very, very similar, and it's hard to adjust it for a character whose hair IS her most identifiable feature. :I
_{(Also, just a side note, but yes, she always has that little "star burst" mark on her forehead. It's just that like, 9 times out of 10, her hair covers it up. orz Or I derp and forget it, because I fail like that. )}

G3.5: Oh god, I feel so dirty. ;-; What was wrong with this pseudo-generation, seriously. Augh, those legs... and the faces... *shudder* OTL

G4: I really can't draw those tiny little muzzles, but oh well. Close enough I guess. XD;;

Other Artist's Style: It took me a while to decide on this one, because there are so many fabulous pony artists out there, but I decided to go with . I more of less just totally followed their Fluttershy from this picture, but I really just could not capture the extreme CUTE of the style. |D;;
